Paxton Bounds, Men's Soccer

The members of the Owls Athletic Program have selected Paxton Bounds, men’s soccer, as the Renasant Bank Athlete of the Month for his efforts on and off the soccer field during the month of October.

The junior forward from Pearl, Miss. played in all seven games with seven starts to record seven goals and four assists for The W soccer team. With the Owls going 3-3-1 in the month of October, Bounds was instrumental in the team’s wins over Hendrix College and The Crown College of the Bible. Against Hendrix, he scored two goals in the Owls 4-3 win over the Warriors and against The Crown, Bounds scored four goals in the 5-1 victory.

This is not the first time this season that Bounds has been recognized for his efforts. In the first week of the month, Bounds was named USCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week and was picked as the Owls Spotlight Player of the Week.

Bounds is a junior Business major here at The W and hopes to one day join the military and run for state office.
