  • Volleyball to Host 2017 Owls Invitational

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women’s volleyball team will bring the game home for the first time this season when they host the 2017 Owls Volleyball Invitational on Friday, Sept. 22 – Saturday, Sept. 23. The Owls will face three teams during the two-day tournament; Southern Union Community College, Southwestern Adventist University, and Bevill State Community College.
  • Soccer Suffers 9-0 Loss at Point University

    WEST POINT, Ga. – The Mississippi University for Women men’s soccer team had an uphill battle Wednesday, Sept. 20 against Point University during a midweek match-up. The Owls (0-6-1) scrambled against the Sky Hawks (6-1-1) offense and was powerless against their defense in the 9-0 loss.
  • Volleyball Unable to Finish at Martin Methodist, Falling 3-0

    PULASKI, Tenn. – The Mississippi University for Women volleyball team had a good start against the 9-3 Methodist Martin College on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The Owls (2-11) put up a great offense early in the match but struggled to keep the momentum going. The W fell 3-0 (20-25, 14-25, 9-25) to the Red Hawks.   
  • Owls Invitational Schedule Changes

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – Head coach Roxanne Hernandez and the Mississippi University for Women volleyball team are set to host this year’s Owls invitational on Friday, Sept. 22 – Saturday, Sept. 23. The Owls will compete against three teams; Bevill State Community College, Southern Union State Community College, and Southwestern Adventist University.
  • Lamon Named to Huntingdon All-Tournament Team
    Montgomery, Ala. – Madison Lamon, freshman setter from Russellville, Ala., was named to the Huntingdon All-Tournament team because of her effort during the tournament this past weekend. During the match against Huntingdon, Lamon recorded 18 assist and 13 digs for a career first double-double

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team and the MUW Child and Parent Development Center (CPDC) formed a partnership that will give the student-athletes community service opportunities and provide the preschool with the much needed help.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls Athletic teams will have a  eventful week Sept. 17-23. The men’s soccer team will start the week off on the road at Millsaps College and pick up a midweek game at Point University. The volleyball team will take on Martin Methodist on the road Tuesday and then bring the game back home when they host a two-day tournament.
  • Volleyball Shows Better Execution in Day Two of Huntingdon Tournament

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Mississippi University for Women volleyball team put up a good effort in day two of the Huntingdon Volleyball Tournament. Facing some really tough teams, the Owls showed more spirit and executed the plays better to put up one of their better fights of the season. Despite the effort, the Owls (2-10) go 0-2 in day two of the tournament.
  • Cross Country Sees Improvement in First 5K of the Season

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Mississippi University for Women women’s cross country team finished in 24th place at the Rhodes College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16.The Owls competed against several NCAA Division I athletic programs, including Arkansas State University, University of Memphis, Mississippi Valley State University, Jacksonville State University, Alabama A&M University, and Jackson State University. Despite the stiff competition, The W kept pushing and finished its first 5K run of the season.
  • Soccer Heads to Jackson to Face the Majors

    JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women men’s soccer team will travel to Jackson, Miss. to face Millsaps College on Sunday, Sept. 17.  The Owls (0-4-1) will face the Majors (3-1-1) at 2 p.m. at Harper-Davis Field.

  • Volleyball Prepares for Huntingdon Tournament

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women’s volleyball team will hit the road again this weekend as they travel to Montgomery, Ala. to participate in the Huntingdon Volleyball Tournament. The Owls (1-7) will be looking to get a few more wins under their belt as they face Huntingdon College, Rust College, Miles College, and LaGrange College on Friday, Sept. 15 – Saturday, Sept. 16.

On Saturday, Sept. 9, the Owls fell 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-15) to Centenary College - Louisiana and 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-20) to Belhaven University at the Heidelberg Gymnasium in Jackson, Miss.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women men’s soccer team dropped a hard fought match 4-1 to its USCAA sister institution Concordia College – Alabama. With the Wednesday night loss, the Owls fall to 0-2-1 on the season while the Hornets improve 3-0.
