HANCEVILLE, Ala. - The Owls volleyball team was unable to pick up a win in the first day of the Wallace State Volleyball Tournament on Friday, Oct. 13. The Owls played hard defensively but where unable to find ground offensively, falling 3-0 (18-25, 16-25, 11-25) to Faulkner State Community College and 3-0 (10-25, 9-25, 6-25) against Vincennes University.

"Today was a tough day for us mentally as we started a little slow out of the gates,"said head coach Roxanne Hernandez. "From there, we struggled to get in an offensive rhythm. I commend Savannah Thomas and Loren Schmitt for their defensive efforts and Sarah Hampton for coming in off the bench to provide some relief to our backrow players."

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 14, when they face Catawba Valley Community College at 9 a.m. and Wallace State Community College at 1 p.m.
