MUW Student Athletic Trainers:
The Owls Sports Medicine department is looking for athletic training students for the 2018-2019 school year. Athletic training students at MUW gain valuable athletic training knowledge and hands on experience
Athletic training students help cover the 12 sports located on the MUW campus. These sports include Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Men’s & Women’s Tennis, Softball, Baseball and Men’s Golf. Students will cover team practices, home games, and will get to travel to away competitions with their assigned sport. Athletic training students will also help treat and rehabilitate injuries in the athletic training room under the direct supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer. Overall, students help improve the quality of the sports medicine program.
Athletic training students will be introduced to sports medicine principles and will receive valuable hands on experience at the university level. The experience gained at MUW will make for an easy transition into a health or athletic related field or help with entrance to physical or occupational therapy school.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Athletic training students are responsible for assisting the certified athletic trainers in the care and prevention of injuries to MUW student athletes.
- Athletic training students will be required to maintain a minimum of a 2.5GPA in order to retain their position.
