COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W Athletic staff has selected Jabari Williams as the October Renasant Athlete of the Month. Jabari has exemplified the four core values of Owls Athletics: Academics, Community, Life, and Athletics.
Jabari is a senior cross country runner who is majoring in kinesiology. Every day at practice, He works incredibly hard to be the best he can be. His respect for people is about as outstanding as his work ethic. At the JSU Foothill Invitational, the Jackson, Miss. native proved his hard work. He increased his pace per mile by 30 seconds and towards the finish line, he gave all he had left to run the 7k in 35:03 placing him before twenty other runners.
Jabari is involved in Phi Beta Sigma Inc., Young Black Leaders of America, W-Leadership, and Men of Excellence. He works as an RA and student Manager at Stark Rec. He also volunteers in the community through these organizations like greeting students at Sale Elementary all while maintaining at 3.49 GPA.
