    HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Owls volleyball team goes 2-2 at the Wallace State Community College Exhibition tournament. In the two-day event, The W saw victories against Cleveland State Community College and Chattanooga State Community College while falling to Wallace State Community College – Selma and Walters State Community College.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men's soccer team redeem themselves on a high note with a 6-0 victory over Welch College on Saturday, Oct. 12. Senior Jacob Thomas contributed the final goal during Saturday's match improving the Owls victory to 6-0.
  • Men's Cross Country Finishes Strong in Last Meet of the Regular Season

    JACKSON, Miss. – The Owls men’s cross country team finished 18th in a field of 20 during the 2019 Mississippi College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12. With an average time of 31:57.55 and a point total of 552, The W outpaced the University of Arkansas-Monticello by 17 points and Stillman College by 47 points.
  • Owls Men's Soccer Fought Until the End, 5-1

    COLUMBUS, Miss.- On Thursday, October 10th, the Owls competed in a tough match against Talladega. After a late-game start, the W continued to have spirit and completed in a hard match. Despite all efforts, victory was not successful in this evening's match, losing the match 5-1. With the loss, The W moves to 4-7-1 on the season.

    NORFOLK, Va. - The Owls women's soccer team moved to the third spot and the volleyball team moved up to a ninth-place ranking in the third week the USCAA Coaches Poll. The W men's soccer team is still ranked 10th. 
  • Volleyball Hangs Tough with MC

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – For the first two sets, the Owls volleyball team kept pace with its NCAA Division II opponent Mississippi College on Tuesday evening. The W struggled in the third set and was unable to get back in the game for a 3-0 loss to the Lady Choctaws.
  • Owls Place 5th in USCAA Golf Championship, Suber Named All-American, Three Receive Academic Honors

    STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – After a day of rain, the 2019 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Golf Championship was shortened to a one-round event and 20 teams took over Penn State Blue Course to make their mark in the national tournament. The Owls men’s golf team played a little below its season average but was able to grab a 5th place finish with an overall score of 310. As a team, The W was 12-over par and 18 strokes over first place winner St. Mary of the Woods.

  • Men's Cross Country Best Six Teams, Women Outpace Four in JSU Foothills Invitational

    OXFORD, Ala. – The Owls men’s cross-country team bested six teams and the women outpaced four teams during the 2019 Jacksonville State University Foothill Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5. The men outran several NCAA Division II and NAIA schools including Lane College, Rust College, and Tuskegee University and one NCAA Division I school Kennesaw State. The women's team overcame Miles College, Shorter University, Lane, and Rust.

  • Owls Fall Sports Ranked Top-Ten in USCAA

    NORFOLK, Va. - Owls fall sports dominate the top ten in the USCAA Coaches Poll for the second week in a row. The W women's soccer team is tied for fourth among Division I competitors and the men's team is ranked ninth. With a 5-13 record, the Owls volleyball team is ranked tenth. All three teams will hold home games this week. Come out and support the Owls as the fight to climb to the top. 
  • Thomas Scores for the Owls in 2-1 Loss Against Hendrix

    CONWAY, Ark.– The Owls were unable to outlast the Warriors in Friday night's soccer match. Hendrix men's soccer team scored a late overtime goal to take the match 2-1 over The W. With the loss, Owls move to 2-6-3 on the season.

    Conway, Ark. – The Owls women’s soccer dropped its contest on Friday night at Hendrix College Warrior Field by a tally of 6-1 to the Warriors. The Owls are now 6-6-0 on the season and Hendrix sitting at a 4-3-5 record.

    PULASKI, Tenn. – After a decisive first set, the Owls volleyball team rallied together to comeback against Martin Methodist College in set two to remain in the game. The W put up a strong defensive effort with 69 digs and 10 block assists but it was not enough to defeat the Redhawks. The Owls fell 3-1 Friday evening in the Richard Curry Christian Life Center.
  • Men’s Soccer Fell Short at Huntingdon College

    Montgomery, Ala. – The W men's soccer team competed tremendously in their match against Huntingdon College on Wednesday, October 2. The Owls played hard, but they were unable to get past the Hawks to fall 3-2. After this midweek match, the Owls move to 2-5-3 on the season.
  • Volleyball Dominates Judson, 3-0

    MARION, Ala. – Senior outside hitter Haley McMuphey recorded a match-high 11 kills in the Owls 3-0 victory over Judson College. The W defeated the Eagles in three sets with scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-14 to improve to 5-12 on the season.
  • Three Owls Teams Ranked Top-10 in USCAA
    September 25, 2019
    NORFOLK, Va. – The USCAA released the first coaches poll of the 2019-20 season and three Owls programs were named among the top ten. The women’s soccer team who is currently 6-5 overall with wins over Louisiana College and Millsaps College is ranked third among USCAA Division I teams. The Owls volleyball team who is off to one of its best starts since the return of the program in 2017 holds a 4-12 record to be ranked seventh and the men’s soccer team holds a 2-4-3 record to be ranked ninth.

    SWANNANOA, N.C. – Freshman midfielder Zerick Brown scores Owls only goal in Saturday’s match at Warren Wilson. The W (2-4-3) played well defensively to allow only one goal by its fellow USCAA-institution to end the game in a 1-1 tie.
  • Women's Soccer Stumbles at Faulkner, 2-0

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In the goal, junior keeper Sarah Gilliland played the entire 90-minute match against Faulkner University to tally eight saves and two goals allowed. Unfortunately, the offense was unable to land a goal and the Owls fell 2-0 to the Eagles Saturday afternoon.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls volleyball team took on Bevill State Community College in midseason exhibition play on Friday, Sept. 27. The W proved they have come a long way since the start of the season to defeat the Bears in 3 sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-23).

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls gave the Blazers all they could take in a five-set match on Tuesday night in Pohl Gymnasium. The W volleyball team (4-12) did not go down easily in the 3-2 (20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 11-15) loss to Belhaven University (6-7).

  • PR's All-Around for the Men's Cross Country Team

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman Jonathan Mathis leads the pack in the Owls first 8k run of the season at the Rhodes Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning at Shelby Farm in Memphis Tenn. With a combined time of 2:47:09 and a score of 676, the Owls completed the race in 21st place. The Owls missed out placing the University of Arkansas – Monticello by one point.
