    CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Statesmen were successful in silencing Owls leading scorer Keith Harris which gave senior forward Carlos Wilkerson the opportunity to step up. The Cottondale, Ala. native put up 12 points in The W men's basketball team's exhibition game against Delta State University. The Owls lost the battle at the line to fall 69-55 to the Statesmen.

The W women's basketball team lost 84-74 to the Royals on Friday at Juhan Gymnasium.

    TALLADEGA, Ala. - Keith Harris and Tyler Jackson could not miss in the second half and did not have much margin for error as they helped bail out the Owls men's basketball team against Rust College in its opening game of the Talladega College Classic. In the 81-76 victory, the Owls claimed their first win of the season.
