Owls Baseball Rallies for Late Game Comeback and the Sweep against Robert Morris- Peoria

COLUMBUS, Miss. – After a tough start, the W baseball team rallied to score five runs in the seventh inning to defeat Robert Morris - Peoria 9-6 in the final game of the series. The Owls improve to 15-6 on the season.

The W started the game down, entering the bottom of the fifth behind the Eagles 5-1. The Owls began their scoring streak in the bottom of the sixth as Prince Tolbert hit his first home run of the season bringing in three runs.

With bases loaded in the seventh inning, the Owls scored a string of runs to take their first lead of the game. RJ Cox walked for the RBI to send Leon "Trey" Petite home for his second run of the game. Bobby Neal hit a double to allow Brandon Jones and Damain Benefield to score one run each and Tolbert singled to third base to bring R.J Cox home. Heath Ford made his way back to plate to single to third giving Neal the chance to score the final run and put The W ahead 9-6.

For his second win of the season, Luke Hobson entered the game in fifth to pitch 4.0 innings for four hits against, one run, two walks, and four strikeouts.  

At the plate, Bobby Neal went 3-for-4 for two runs and two RBIs and Prince Tolbert went 2-for-4 with one run and four RBIs.

UP NEXT
The Owls will travel Saturday, April 13 to compete against the Bulldogs of Tougaloo College. The doubleheader action is set to begin at 1 p.m.
