The Owls Suffers Lost Against Stillman College

GAME ONE (L, 6-3)
The Owls struggled to get the ball going in game one, finding themselves behind 6-3 after six innings. The W continued to battle to cut down Stillman's lead but were unsuccessful.

The W's first run was scored by Reese Wagner as Leon "Trey" Petite hit a double. The Owls second run was shortly scored by Petite as Brandon Jones singled to center field.

The Owls continued to fight, but were unable to deliver a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Leading the Owls at the plate, first baseman, Damain Benefield had a 3-for-3 appearance.

At the plate, RJ Dell took the loss on the mound. The junior right-hander pitched 4.1 innings for seven strikeouts, five hits against, and five earned runs.

Pitching the final innings was Luke Hobson. The Ripley, MS native pitched 2.2 innings for one strikeout, three hits against and one earned run.

GAME TWO (L, 7-4)

Despite the Tigers out-hitting The W 9-5, the Owls were able to get runners in a scoring position.

The Owls fought to keep up placing the game in a tie several innings. Scoring the first run for the Owls was Cody Brewington as Brandon Jones singled to centerfield.

The W did not allow Stillman to score for four innings.

In the bottom of the third, Heath Ford scored and Damain Benefield singled and advanced to second. Shortly after Brewington scored the Owls third run as Brandon Jones hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield.

The final run was scored in the fifth inning by Ford due to a passed ball.

At the plate, Brandon Jones lead the team with a 1-for-2 appearance and two RBIs.

Damain Benefield followed Jones with a 1-for-2 appearance and one RBI.

Drew Williams pitched the first 4.0 innings for the Owls delivering four strikeouts with five hits.

Following Williams, pitching 2.0 innings for the Owls was sophomore Will Peters. The right hander pitcher allowed two strikeouts, four hits, and one walk.

Pitching the final inning for the Owls and gaining the loss on the mound was freshman Courtlan Frost. The Toxey, AL., native allowed one walk and two strikeouts.
