COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men's basketball team fell short in its first outing during its inaugural season on the court. The W took on Tougaloo College in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 3 but struggled to make the grade against the NAIA opponent to fall 94-65 in its first offering.
Coming off the bench, Josh Skinner scored a team high of 12 points going 3-8 in three-point range and 3-4 at the free-throw line. The senior from Starkville, Miss. also lent two rebounds, one assist, and one assist to the Owl effort.
The Owls will play their first official game on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Blue Mountain College on their home court.
Prior to the first game, The W will host its first Blue White Game on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The night of basketball will give Owls fans and the Columbus community their first official look at the Owls men's and women's basketball games. The event is set to begin at 6 p.m.
