Men's Basketball Scores Second Victory Against CU - Somerset

SOMERSET, Ky. – Juniors Tavonta Jones and Tre Pinkston led the Owls men's basketball team in its second victory over Campbellsville University – Somerset on Saturday afternoon. Jones grabbed 22 points while Pinkston scored 16 in the 91-78 win over the Tigers.

Shon Wright came off the bench to score 14 points to round out the double-digit scoring in the effort.

"[I am] really excited about today's win," said Owls head coach Brian Merkel. "It's tough anytime you go on the road and win. Our guys came out with a great mindset and beat a very tough team. We really stepped up our defensive effort in the last 10 minutes of the game and I look forward to continuing this momentum at home on Thursday night."

The Owls will return to the court on Thursday, Jan. 17 when they host Selma University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
