  • Men's Basketball Ends Season with 71-70 Victory Over Oakwood

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men’s basketball team took on a fierce adversary in Oakwood University in its final game of the 2019-20 season. After a brief struggle midway through, The W was able to bounce back and defeat the Ambassadors 71-70.

    NORFOLK, Va. - The Owls men's and women's basketball programs remain on the USCAA coaches radar and are rising in the USCAA Basketball Coaches Poll. In the tenth week of the poll, The W men's basketball team breaks the top ten, ranking No. 9, while the women's basketball team moves to 12th.

    BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Owls men’s basketball run to the USCAA National Basketball Championship Tournament ended last night in a 77-55 loss at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. The W played hard, but a slow start cost them the game inside Becknell Gymnasium.
  • Men's Basketball Stalls at Champion Christian, 88-83

    HOTSPRINGS, Ark. – Senior guard Tre Pinkston led the Owls with a game-high 27 points on the road against Champion Christian College Saturday afternoon. Despite the effort, The W was unable to come back from a slow first half to defeat the Tigers. The Owls fell 88-83 inside Champion Christian Community Center.

    PENSACOLA, Fla. – Senior guard Keith Harris led the Owls men’s basketball team to a 79-69 victory at Pensacola Christian College Tuesday evening. With the win, The W improves to 9-11 on the season and bounces back from a loss against Oakwood earlier in the week.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – Freshman guard Milos Zeradjanin led his team for the first time this season in a hard-fought 85-74 victory over Champion Christian Thursday afternoon in Emma ‘Ody’ Pohl Gymnasium. The Zemun, Serbia native put up a game-high 20 points with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and one block to propel The W ahead in its eighth win of the season.

    SOMERSET, Ky. – The Owls men’s basketball team improves to 7-10 with a 99-86 victory over Campbellsville University – Somerset on Saturday afternoon. Tavonta Jones led The W offense with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.

  • Fall 2019 Athletic Director's List

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – Director of Athletics Jason Trufant and the Owls athletic program would like to take the time to recognize the 111 student-athletes who received a GPA of 3.0 or better during the fall 2019 semester. Because of their academic efforts, the scholars have been named to the Fall 2019 Athletic Director's List. Among those student-athletes recognized, 38 Owls hold at least a 3.5 GPA and 20 finished with a 4.0.  
  • Owls Extend Winning-Streak in 64-54 Victory Over Pensacola Christian

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men’s basketball team continues its four-game winning streak with a 64-54 victory over Pensacola Christian College inside Emma ‘Ody’ Pohl Gymnasium Friday evening. The 6-10 Owls were led by senior guard Tre Pinkston who picked up 18 points in Friday’s competition. He was assisted by Keith Harris and Carlos Wilkerson who picked up 13 and 12 points respectively.

  • Harris Named Renasant Athlete of the Month

    Men’s basketball player Keith Harris has been selected as the first Renasant Bank Athlete of the month in the year 2020. The senior guard from Starkville, Miss. has been a huge asset during the 2019-20 season. A spirited competitor, Harris leads The W in scoring, averaging 20.8 points per game. He also adds 1.2 steals per game, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
  • Men's Basketball Outpaces SUNO, 73-62

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men’s basketball team outpaced the Knights of Southern University - New Orleans to get its fourth victory of the season. Saturday evening, The W defeated SUNO 73-62 inside of Emma ‘Ody’ Pohl Gymnasium.

Despite the offensive effort, it was not enough to keep the Owls in the game and The W men’s basketball team fell 78-57 versus the Tornadoes.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – After a tough showing at the Millsaps Thanksgiving Classic and week off of competition, the Owls men’s basketball team returns to Emma ‘Ody’ Pohl Gymnasium on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT in a rematch against Talladega College. The Owls took on the Tornadoes on the road in the second weekend of the season to fall 91-53.

The standings consist of results from the 2019 USCAA Golf, Volleyball, Soccer, and Cross Country National Championships in addition to points for 2019 National Convention attendance and sports offering.
