Men's Basketball Travels to LSU-Shreveport for Exhibition Play

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men's basketball team will take on Louisiana State University – Shreveport in exhibition play on Monday, Nov. 11 when it travels to Shreveport, La. to play in The Dock, the Pilot's gymnasium located in the Health and Physical Education Building on the campus of LSU-Shreveport.

The W closed its inaugural season 7-18 with victories over Howard Payne University, Campbellsville University – Somerset, Champion Christian College, and Morris College. The Owls retain 2018-19 leading scorer Tavonta Jones who averaged 13.8 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game. Senior Keith Harris also returns to the court for the Owls. The Starkville, Miss. native averaged 10.9 points per game last season.

The W lost leading rebounder DJ Clark who averaged just shy of a double-double with 11.9 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game. The Owls also lost starter Josh Skinner who averaged 7.9 points per game.

The W adds transfers Marshun Gladney, Ddallen Bailey, Brien Kimmons, JaQuan Hines, Tyler Jackson, and a host of freshmen making their first collegiate appearances.

LSU-Shreveport has already started its season and is currently 3-0. The Pilots have defeated Southwestern Adventist, Southern University at New Orleans, and Centenary College. LSU-Shreveport is led offensively by Tra'Quan Knight who averages 21 points per game with six rebounds.
