TALLADEGA, Ala. - Keith Harris and Tyler Jackson could not miss in the second half and did not have much margin for error as they helped bail out the Owls men's basketball team against Rust College in its opening game of the Talladega College Classic. In the 81-76 victory, the Owls claimed their first win of the season.
Harris had another big night for The W, putting up 27 points, including a two-point layup that tied the game with just over two minutes on the clock. The senior guard also added six rebounds and one assist in the effort. With Harris's help, the Owls rallied from a nine-point deficit to take their first victory of the season.
Jackson made his first major offensive contribution of the season with 21 points for his career-high as a member of The W men's basketball team.
Struggling beyond the arc and ending the first half behind Rust 42-38, the Owls quickly regrouped behind Harris, who finished 10 of 18 from the floor and 6 of 9 at the free-throw line.
Jackson went 7 of 13 from the floor and 6 for 7 at the free-throw line. He coupled it with five rebounds and two assists.
