COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men's basketball team prepares to close 2019 in a matchup against Lyon College on Monday, Dec. 30. The two teams are set to face off at 6 p.m. CT inside of Emma 'Ody' Pohl Gymnasium.

The W (2-10) is looking to end the year on a high note with a win against the Scots. In their last outing, the Owls played against Blue Mountain College at home and narrowly missed a victory versus the Toppers. After leading BMC 31-19 in the first half, The W lost momentum and fell 74-61.
As a team, the Owls average 70.5 points per game, shooting 40.4 percent from the floor, 25.7 percent in three-point range, and 66.1 percent at the line. The W averages 40.6 rebounds per game and 10.5 assists while allowing 75.6 points per game, 40.5 rebounds, and 11.5 assists.
Leading the Owls offense, Keith Harris has had a great start to his senior season to average 21.2 points per game with 5.4 rebounds. He is assisted in scoring by Tavonta Jones and Carlos Wilkerson who average 11.4 and 8.8 points per game respectively.
Lyon College (9-3) averages 65.5 points per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 67.1 percent at the free-throw line. LC also averages 32.9 rebounds per game and 13.7 assists. Junior guard Hunter Daley leads the Scots offense with 12.3 points per game and 5.6 rebounds.
