Men's Basketball Winning Streak Ends at Oakwood

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -  The Owls men's basketball team's six-game winning streak came to an end Saturday night with a 73-54 loss at Oakwood University inside Ashby Auditorium.
 
Senior guard Keith Harris led the Owls in scoring and rebounding with 10 points and eight boards. Tre Pinkston and Milos Zeradjanin aided in the effort with eight points each.
 
As a team, the Owls shot 22-for-70 (31.4 percent) from the field, 4-for-25 (16.0 percent) in three-point range, and 6-for-12 (50.0 percent) at the free throw line. For the first half of the game, it appeared that Oakwood could not miss and it ended the game shooting 30-for-62 (48.4 percent) from the floor, 4-for-19 (21.1 percent) in three-point range, and 9-for-14 (64.3 percent) at the line.
 
The Owls were outrebounded 50-33 but caused fewer turnovers 15-6. The Ambassadors scored more points in the paint 34-24 and on second chance points 11-7.
 
The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 28 when they travel to Pensacola, Fla. for a rematch against Pensacola Christian College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
