PENSACOLA, Fla. – Senior guard Keith Harris led the Owls men's basketball team to a 79-69 victory at Pensacola Christian College Tuesday evening. With the win, The W improves to 9-11 on the season and bounces back from a loss against Oakwood earlier in the week.
Harris, a Starkville, Miss. native, scored 28 points for the Owls with 9 rebounds, 9 assists, and two steals. Senior guard Tre Pinkston aided in the effort with 18 points and four assists. Rounding out the double-digit scoring, Tavonta Jones and Carlos Wilkerson scored 12 and 10 points respectively.
As a team, The W went 29-for-72 (40.3 percent) from the floor, 8-for-22 in three-point range, and 13-for-16 at the free-throw line. The Eagles hit 26-of-64 (40.6 percent) from the field, 9-for-27 (33.3 percent) beyond the arc, and 8-for-11 (72.7 percent) at the line.
The Owls outrebounded PCC, 39-31, and scored more second-chance points, 8-4. The Eagles scored more points off of turnovers, 17-15, and had a more productive bench which outscored The W, 11-6.
The W men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 when it travels to Champion Christian. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
