MADISON, Miss. – Junior Dylan Cash will head into the final round of the Mississippi College Spring Invite with an opportunity to earn his first individual top-10 finish of the season after opening day of the two-day, 54-hole event on Saturday.
The W is competing against five other schools, University of Arkansas – Monticello, Belhaven University, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Mississippi College, and Shorter College, at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison, Miss. The tournament hosted by Mississippi College is being played on a par 72 course that has a 6,835 yardage.
Cash is tied for 11th behind rounds of 77 and 71 and sits at 4-over par for the tournament. He is a mere two strokes off the pace for a top-10 finish which would mark his first of the 2018-19 season while his team currently ranks fifth.
The Columbus, Miss. native played 1-under par over the second set of holes on Monday. He carded six birdies during the second round to improve by six strokes from his first 18 holes of the day.
Freshman Brady Scola sits at 14th overall after rounds of 72 and 78. He birdied four times in round one to lead his team for the first round of the tournament. In the second round, that number dropped to one with a double bogey at the 15th hole to lose the team lead.
The third and final round of the event is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. Live scoring is available via golfstat.com.
