Walker Finishes First, Owls Finish Second at LC Fall Invite

ALEXANDRIA, La. – Senior Brandon Walker scored one stroke greater than his best finish as an Owls and The W men's golf team finished second at the 2019 Louisiana College Fall Invitational that wrapped up Tuesday at the Link on the Bayou.

The Owls were edged over the final 18 holes by Centenary College for the team title, while Walker's 1-over 145 was good for first place. The Owls (+38) rallied from being six strokes down entering Tuesday and overtook former second place holder East Baptist University by one stroke.

Walker was in the low 70s for each of his two rounds and one stroke over his best performance as a member of The W men's golf team.

Also finishing in the top for the Owls was Coleman Suber. Suber ended with a score of 77 in the first round following with 76 in the second round. He tied for ninth place with an overall score of 153.

The Owls will be back in on the course on Monday, Oct. 7 when they travel to Pennsylvania to participate in the USCAA National Championship.
