CLARKESVILLE, Ga. – Second round woes took the Owls men's golf team out of competition for first place in the Piedmont Fall Invitational. After ending round one in second place, the Owls dropped to the seventh spot to conclude the tournament.
The Owls had an impressive 301 first round, just eight strokes behind number one finisher Piedmont College. Unfortunately, The W was unable to repeat the effort in round two, scoring 330.
Leading the Owls, Zach Riley played for an even-par first round and a 78-stroke seven-round to finish in ninth place.
Brandon Walker came in second on the Owls team with a one-over-par first round while scoring 85 in round two. He finished 24th overall with a score of 158.
The W will be back on the course on Monday, Oct. 21 through Tuesday, Oct. 22 when they travel to Mount Berry, Ga. to compete in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College. Tee time is set for 8:00 a.m. EST.
