MADISON, Miss. – Junior Dylan Cash will head into the final round of the Mississippi College Spring Invite with an opportunity to earn his first individual top-10 finish of the season after opening day of the two-day, 54-hole event on Saturday.
BOSSIER, La. – All but one team were unable to improve in the second round of the Centenary Hal Sutton Golf Invite. The Owls completed day two with two additional strokes than their previous round but benefited from the miscues of other teams to complete the tournament in seventh place.
BOSSIER CITY, La. – Junior Brandon Walker was the low scorer on the first day of the Centenary Hal Sutton Golf Invite for The W men’s golf team on Monday. The Vardaman, Miss. native fired a round six over par to pace the Owls in their second tournament of the spring season.
COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men’s golf team traveled to Hattiesburg, Miss. this week to participate in its first competition of the spring season. In its first outing after placing third at the USCAA Championship Golf Tournament, The W came in at 11th place at the Carey CWollegiate Classic.
GULFPORT, Miss. – The W men’s golf team traveled to Gulfport, Miss. to participate in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Fall Invitational Monday, Oct. 29 – Tuesday, Oct. 30.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Owls men’s golf team reached a high point during its inaugural season by placing third at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Golf Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The W shot 3-over-par in the last round on Tuesday to best 20 of the 23 fielded teams and finish the two-day event with a score of 590 (299-291,14-over).
CLARKSVILLE, Ga. – The W men’s golf team participated in the 13th Annual Piedmont College Fall Invitational on Monday, Oct. 1 – Tuesday, Oct. 2. During the Owls second outing, The W competing against 11 other teams for a 7th place finish. After finishing the first round in last place, the Owls finished with a score of 652 to best four other teams.
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The W men’s golf team traveled to Alexandria, La. this week to participate in its first tournament of the inaugural season. The Owls first tournament was the Louisiana College Fall Invite hosted by Louisiana College at the Links on the Bayou. As a team, the Owls shot a two-round total of 633, which earned them a fifth place team finish. The W posted five strokes better than the host school and 37 strokes over tournament winner LeTourneau University.
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Athletic Director Jason Trufant and the Owls athletic program announced the Spring 2019 Athletic Director’s List honorees on Thursday, May 30. The list includes 105 student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the spring 2019 semester. Among those recognized, 53 have GPAs greater than 3.5 and 24 achieved a perfect 4.0.
