Men's Soccer Struggles Against Rhodes College, 11-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Mississippi University for Women men's soccer team fell, 11-0, against Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon after conquering a win against Hendrix College on Friday. The Owls fall to 2-3-0 overall, while the Lynx improve to 4-2-0.

The Owls forward and midfielders pushed Lynx hard throughout the match to open up scoring opportunities.

Early in the second, Andres Martinez went for a goal, but Lynx goalie Patrick Wilkerson blocked the shot. 

Playing the 45 minutes each goalkeepers Jakob Williams and John McGee tallied five saves with 11 goals allowed out of 16 shots on goal.

Other standout Owls are Nikola Srzic, who accomplished two shots with one shot on goal and Kyle Rodriguez, and Cody Russell with one shot on goal.

As a team, the Owls tallied eight shots with three shots on goal.

The Owls will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 19 as they host Huntingdon College at the Columbus Soccer Complex. The Owls are scheduled to take on the Hawks at 6 p.m.
