COLUMBUS, Miss. - The Owls men's soccer team grabbed its first victory of the season on Thursday, Sept. 5. The Owls played the game effectively to defeat the Wildcats 1-0 and give Dylan Burnett his first win as a collegiate head coach.

Josh Martin, a junior forward, led the Owls offensive efforts. The Memphis, Tenn. native scored the only goal of the game with 12 minutes left in the second half to put The W on the board. Assisting Martin's goal was senior forward Bradford Clarke.
Junior goalkeeper Selvin Lopez collected his first win of the season with three saves and no goals allowed over 78 minutes.
The W tallied 15 shots and seven shots on goal as Louisiana College tallied seven shots and three shots on goal.
The Owls will be back on the road for the weekend to compete against Oakwood University Friday, Sept. 6 and Welch College Saturday, Sept. 7.
