Montgomery, Ala. – The W men's soccer team competed tremendously in their match against Huntingdon College on Wednesday, October 2. The Owls played hard, but they were unable to get past the Hawks to fall 3-2. After this midweek match, the Owls move to 2-5-3 on the season.

With only two minutes into the first half, Michael Ledbetter scored the Owls' first goal as he completed a breakaway and tapped the ball into the goal around the goalkeeper. The Owls continued to have control and 19 minutes later, Brayan Resendiz scored a second goal by splitting two defenders and beating the goalkeeper.

On offense, Ledbetter lead with three shots on goal and following with a tally of one shot on goal each were Josh Martin, Zerick Brown, and Resendiz.

Coming back strong in the second half, the Hawks put up three goals to take lead and the victory.

Goalkeeper John McGee played the entire 90 minutes. McGee tallied six saves and allowed three goals.

The Owls will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 4 when they travel to compete against Hendrix College. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
