Owls Men's Soccer Fought Until the End, 5-1

COLUMBUS, Miss. – On Thursday, October 10th, the Owls competed in a tough match against Talladega. After a late-game start, the W continued to have spirit and completed in a hard match. Despite all efforts, victory was not successful in this evening's match, losing the match 5-1. With the loss, The W moves to 4-7-1 on the season.

The lone Owls goal in the match came off the head of Hunter Holdiness as Kyle Rodriguez set up a great assist in the 58thminute for The W. 

Leading the offense with one shot on goal each were Zerick Brown, Michael Ledbetter, and Hunter Holdiness.

Despite the five goals allowed, goalkeepers John McGee and Selvin Lopez put in major work. McGee defended the Owls goal for 32:39 for three saves and one goal allowed. Lopez defended the goal for the Owls for 57:21 with four goals allowed. 

The Owls will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they take on Welch College. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.
