COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men's soccer team redeemed itself with a 6-0 victory over Welch College on Saturday, Oct. 12.
After losing Thursday evening, the men's soccer team came back to the field today with exciting energy for Senior Day.
Within three minutes, Joshua Frankenstein, assisted by Pilgrim, scored his first goal and Pilgrim's second assist to put the W head of Welch 2-0.
Coming back from halftime, it took the teams awhile to get into a groove, but at 72:46, junior Kyle Rodriguez connected with the ball to score his first goal of the game.
The Owls were on the move and just three minutes later, Brayan Resendiz found an opening and surpassed Welch's goalkeeper to score for the W.
Resendiz repeated the feat at the game's 81:20 mark as he assisted Senior Jacob Thomas with The W's last goal of the game.
During senior day, Thomas was a leader and led the Owls offensively with 3 shots, 2 on goal, and 1 goal scored. Other contributing seniors were Nikola Srzic with 1 shot and 1 on goal, and Clarke with 1 shot, 1 on goal and 1 assist.
