BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Owls men's and women's track and field team competed in the KMS Invite hosted by former track coach Kevin Stephens on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.

"To speak on today's competition, I was very happy with the small improvements we had again across the board," said head coach Dedrick Burnett. "Katelynn Vann came out and impressed me the most as she captured the school's record in the women's long jump with just one day of practicing the event. Every student-athlete who competed today improved in their events which was our main goal coming into the day. We will take the next two weeks off from competition to work on some techniques before we return back to the track for the KMS Open."
