DENVER, Colo. – Junior guard Rokila Wallace led the Owls offense with 19 points off the bench to aid the Owls women's basketball team in its 85-74 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 10. With the Saturday's game behind them, The W moves to 2-0 to open its comeback season.
Bailey, junior small forward, recorded the Owls first double-double of the season. Along with her 13 points, the West Point, Miss. native brought down 11 rebounds with one assist and one steal.
As a team, The W shot 47.1 percent from the field and 46.2 percent in three-point range. The Owls still struggled at the free-throw line going 15-32 but made up for the inaccuracies by converting turnovers by the Prairie Wolves into 25 points.
On the other end, Nebraska Wesleyan shot 40.0 percent from the field, 30.3 percent beyond the arc, and 61.5 percent at the line.
The Owls will have one day of rest before bringing the game back home for its first home game of the season. The W will take on in-state foe Blue Mountain College on Monday, Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. Come out and support the Owls women's basketball team as it takes on the Toppers in the 2018 home opener.
