COLUMBUS, Miss. – The defending USCAA Women's Division I National Champions will begin their 2019-20 season on the road at Southeastern Baptist College on Saturday, Nov. 8. The season opener doubleheader will tip-off at 2 p.m. with the men's game set to begin immediately after.
The Owls had a historic 2019 season, returning to the court for the first time since 2003. The W closed the season 21-6 overall, including the USCAA National Championship game for the title.
The Owls will rely on 2019 USCAA All-American Qiayon Bailey, who is expected to return to The W starting lineup. Last season, Bailey led the team in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game with 6.8 rebounds.
The W will also look to the Autumn Taylor who also started for the Owls during their championship run. In 2019-20, Taylor averaged 9.0 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.9 steals.
