Women's Basketball Seeks First Win at Blue Mountain

COLUMBUS, Miss. – After a devastating loss at Southeastern Baptist in the season opener, the Owls women's basketball is looking to get the season back on the track when it travels to Blue Mountain, Miss. to take on Blue Mountain College Tuesday evening.

The W (0-1) opened the season with an 84-70 loss versus the Chargers on the road.

Senior Qiayon Bailey leads the Owls so far this season, putting up 23 points and 11 rebounds against SBC. MyNeka Frazier, a senior small forward from McComb, Miss, led the team in rebounds with 12.

Senior guard Autumn Taylor also assisted in scoring adding 13 points to the effort.

Blue Mountain (1-2) opened its season with an 83-58 victory over SBC and losses to Williams Baptist University and Freed-Hardeman College.

Senior guard Emilee Murr leads the Toppers in scoring, averaging 15.0 points per game and freshman guard Carissa Horton leads BMC in rebounds with 9.5 per game.

Last season, the Owls defeated Blue Moutain 61-36 at home and 76-67 on the road. The W hopes to continue its winning streak against the Toppers when the game kicks off at 5:30. Follow the live stats and video: HERE.
