Women's Basketball Takes on MC in Exhibition Play

CLINTON, Miss. – Autumn Taylor scored 10 points but it was not enough as the Owls women's basketball team fell 84-38 to Mississippi College on Wednesday night at the A.E. Coliseum in exhibition play.

The W struggled from the field for most of the game, hitting just 14 of 46 (30.4 percent) of its shots, including six of 18 (33.3 percent) from behind the arc. MC made 36 of its 69 field goal attempts (52.2 percent) in the game. The Choctaws also took advantage of their superior size to win the rebounding battle 48-23. MC also led in points in the paint, 52-16, and second-chance points, 11-0.

No other Owl reached double figures but Kyla Temple was second on the team with 8 points. Briona Green and My'Neka Frazier tied for a team-high seven rebounds.

The Owls work continues tomorrow as they return home to take on Southern University – New Orleans. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
