Women's Basketball Comes Up Short at SUNO, 79-62

NEW ORLEANS, La. – My'Neka Frazier hit a career-high 25 points Monday night against Southern University – New Orleans in The W women's basketball team's second road game of 2020. Christianna Harris added 15 and Rachael McGrew added 13 but it was not enough to beat the Knights. The Owls fell 79-62 inside the Golden Dome.

Frazier, a senior small forward, recorded her seventh double-double of the season to bring down 11 boards to lead her team in rebounding. The McComb, Miss. native also added three steals and one assist in the effort.

As a team, The W went 18-for-46 (39.1 percent) from the floor, including one basket made in the three-point range on nine attempts. At the line, the Owls went 25-for-35 for a 71.4 percent free-throw percentage.

SUNO made 36-of-86 (41.9 percent) from the field, including 4-for-20 (20.0 percent) from the floor, and 50 percent from the free-throw line.

 Victoria Udechi for SUNO tied Frazier's game-high 35 points to lead the Knights in scoring. She added 13 rebounds, also for a game-high.

The Owls return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 14 when they travel to Marion, Ala. to take on USCAA sister-institution Judson College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
