COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls women's basketball team will bring the game home after a month on the road to face fellow USCAA institution Judson College on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The W (3-12) enters Tuesday's competition after a week off, having lost its last game, 79-62, at Southern University – New Orleans. The Eagles (1-7) have not competed in over a month with the last game being on Dec. 3. Judson hosted Point University and fell 86-50 on its home court.
Senior guard Autumn Taylor leads the Owls offense, averaging 12.8 points per game. The Newton, Miss. plays 36.5 minutes per game to put 8.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 steals. My'Neka Frazier assists in the scoring effort to average 10.4 points per game. She also leads the Owls in rebounding to bring down 11.6 boards per game.
As a team, The W averages 56.8 points per game, shooting 39.1 percent from the field, 27.2 percent in 3-point range, and 59.0 percent at the free-throw line. The Owls average 40.5 rebounds per game and 10.8 assists.
Freshman forward Jordyne Bishop leads the Eagles offense with 9.0 points per game. She is also responsible for 5.0 rebounds per game, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals. Leading Judson in rebounding, senior center Rhianne Green averages 6.0 boards per game.
As a team, the Eagles average 45.2 points per game, shooting 34.8 percent from the field, 29.7 percent in 3-point range, and 53.7 percent at the free-throw line. Judson averages 30.2 rebounds per game and 11.2 assists.
