COLUMBUS, Miss. - Women's basketball player My'Neka Frazier has been selected as February's Renasant Bank Athlete of the month due to her efforts on the court and in the classroom. The senior forward from McComb, Miss. has been a strong competitor for the Owls during the 2019-20 season and has been one of the driving forces behind many of The W's successes.
A force offensively and defensively, Frazier has collected 11 double-doubles this season while averaging 13.4 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game. In the month of January, Frazier averaged 20.4 ppg and 15.4 rpg while tallying 17 steals and four blocks. Her most successful outing was against fellow USCAA-institution Judson College in which Frazier tallied a career-high 30 points and a career-high 27 rebounds.
"My'Neka has played a vital role for us this year and she's done so while playing out of position the entirety of her senior season," said head coach Drew Johnson. "She has shown great versatility and demonstrated a drive to do whatever is best for her team no matter what is required of her. She has been the embodiment of selflessness and has proven to be a fantastic example for our younger players to follow for years to come. I can't say enough about the job she has done this year and I'm glad she is being recognized for the work she has put in."
In the classroom, Frazier is an accounting major and holds a 3.34 GPA.
