Women's Basketball Still Ranked No. 1 in Week 4

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Despite a loss at Belhaven, the Owls women’s basketball team still leads the United States Collegiate Athletic Association in this week’s Coaches Poll. With a 10-4 record, this is the fourth week straight that The W has held the No. 1 ranking in the USCAA.

JACKSON, Miss. – Autumn Taylor scored 14 points with three steals, three assists, and three rebounds but the number one ranked Mississippi University for Women’s basketball team lost its fourth game of the season to Belhaven University 65-60 on Saturday in the Charles R. Rugg Arena.

Wallace Hits Career-High 35 Points in Huntingdon Loss, 92-78

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Junior guard Rokila Wallace dropped a career-high 35 points in the Roland Arena against Huntingdon College on Saturday, Dec. 15.  The Columbus, Miss. native went 9-for-19 from the field, 4-for-7 in 3-point territory, and 13-18 at the line for the game-high while collecting a game-high of five steals with five boards and one assists.

NORFOLK, Va. - The Owls women's basketball team still holds down the number one spot in the coaches poll for the third week in a row. The W men's basketball team also received votes in this week's poll. 

Bailey Scores Season High 26 Points at Blue Mountain

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Owls women’s basketball team goes 2-0 against the Toppers defeating Blue Mountain College for the second time this season, 76-67 on the road. Seeing improvement from last night’s game against Berry College, The W improves to 9-2 on the season and maintains its number one position in the United States Athletic Association Coaches Poll.

Autumn Taylor Leads the Owls in 69-64 Victory Over Berry

COLUMBUS, Miss. – After trailing the Vikings most of Monday’s game, the Owls rallied in the third and fourth quarters to defeat Berry College 69-64. The W squeezes out the win to improve to 8-2 on the season and maintain its number one ranking the United States Athletic Association standings.

Athlete of the Month

DJ Clark Men's Basketball The W Athletic Department has named DJ Clark as December’s Renasant Athlete of the Month. The senior forward averages 12.3 points per game and 9.6 rebounds. Because of his effort, the Indianola, MS native was named USCAA Player of the Week during the second week of play. DJ is a kinesiology major with a 3.4 GPA and spends his time off the court and out of the classroom as a student worker for campus intramural sports.
