COLUMBUS, Miss.- The Owls women's soccer team fall 4-0 to the University of West Alabama in its second exhibition game.

The Owls started off slow and were unable to find their momentum after a West Alabama early goal.

"Tonight was a great opportunity for us to learn and grow. With this being the last game of preseason playing another school not in our division, we were exposed in a lot of areas," said Head Coach Gray Massey. "Now we know what we have to do to continue to improve and be prepared for the start of the regular season."

Defensively, Sarah Gilliland played 90 minutes at the goal keeper position. Gilliland, sophomore from Brandon, Miss., led the defense with 10 saves.

The Owls will officially start the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 when they travel to Cleveland, Miss. to take on Delta State. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m.
