MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Owls women's soccer team fell, 2-0, against Berry College on Sunday afternoon. The Owls fall to 1-8-0 overall, while the Vikings improve to 6-2-1.
USCAA Goalkeeper of the Week Sarah Gilliland defended the Owls goal for the entire 90 minute match. The sophomore from Brandon, Miss., tallied six saves with two goals allowed out of eight shots on goal.
"Berry has been one of the better teams we have played all year! We battled the entire 90 minutes and I saw a tremendous amount of improvement," stated Head Coach Gray Massey. "It's important we keep getting better at this point in the year and get ready for next week's matches!"
The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 25 as they travel to compete against Birmingham Southern. The Owls are scheduled to take on the Panthers at 5 p.m.
