MARION, Ala. – The Owls women's soccer team concluded the 2018 season with a 3-0 win over USCAA-sister institution Judson College. The W played an aggressive offensive and held a great defensive front to close its inaugural season on a high note and finish the year 5-11-0 overall.
The Owls started the match off strong, gaining its first offense advantage just 22 minutes in to the first half. Sarah Walden, junior midfielder, scored her seventh goal of the season to grab the first goal of Tuesday's game.
The W continued to push the Eagles defense in the first half with nine shots and three corner kicks but was unable to score another goal.
The Owls continued their offensive assault against Judson with 16 recorded shots and four corner kicks in the second part of the game.
Kiln, Miss. native Caroline Grafe scored the Owls second goal of the evening just three minutes into the half. Freshman Dakota Stokes went on to score the Owls third and final goal at the 83-minute mark to close out the game and seal The W victory.
Protecting the Owls goal, sophomore Sarah Gilliland played the entire 90 minutes for the shutout with three saves.
