Columbus, MS – The women's soccer team fell in a hard-fought battle to Belhaven University in the midweek match-up. With this loss, the Owls fall to 5-4-0 record, while the Blazers of Belhaven improve to 5-2-0.
The Owls offense challenged the Blazers throughout the match to develop scoring opportunities but were unable to take the lead.
Defensively, Owls goalie Sarah Gilliland battled hard to prevent the Owls loss, but the Blazers offense prevailed. Playing the entire 90 minutes, Senior Gilliland had six saves with only 2 goals allowed.
The W will return to the field to redeem themselves on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as they take on LaGrange College. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 4 p.m.
