The W women's soccer team bounced back with a 7-1 victory Sunday afternoon at Sprint Mart Soccer Field. The Owls improve to a 7-6 record on the season.
The Owls took a 1-0 lead early in the match with the debut goal from senior Morgan Dennis with the assist by freshman Lizzie Truelock at the 3-minute mark. The Owls offense went quiet until Isaura Camacho broke the silence with a goal at the 34th minute. Dennis scored her second goal of the game to end the first period with the assist from Nevin Holley.
In the second half, The W's offense continued their assault on the Ambassadors to score four goals. Claudia Passeau, Irene Mondragon, Mary Catherine Hutchens, and Briann Benson scored one goal each to lead to the Owls victory.
The Owls defense put in work with only allowing one shot on the goal.
Sophomore Haley Fisackerly earned her first win between the posts playing the first half. Sarah Gilliland finished out the game in the goal for the Owls playing the entire second half.
The Owls will be home on Tuesday, Oct. 8 to take on Judson College. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 5 p.m.
