Columbus, Ms – The W women's soccer team dominated Judson in a 4-1 victory on Tuesday night at Sprint Mart Soccer Field.
The Owls defense was put to the test early as Judson College's offense took a quick lead at the start of the game. It was 2 minutes into play when the Eagles' offense scored their first and only goal off the foot of Camry Sturdivant. The Owls defense buckled down only allowing one other shot on the goal for the rest of the game.
Senior Caroline Grafe broke the silence and woke up the Owls offense with a solo shot at the 43rd minute to tie up the game heading into halftime.
The Owls offense came out fighting in the second period with a goal at the 52nd-minute mark by Senior Britain Welzien to take the lead. Seniors Morgan Dennis and Mackenzie Fennell added to the scoring efforts with a goal each and assisting one another.
The W's offense worked hard with 28 shots with 14 shots on goal.
Junior Sarah Gilliland collected the win for the Owls in goal playing the entire 90 minutes.
The Owls will be home on Thursday, Oct. 10 to take on Talladega College as they look to continue their winning streak at home. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 4 p.m.
