Tennis Begins 2020 Against Christian Brothers

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Owls men’s tennis team fell 7-0 to Christina Brothers University on Saturday, Feb. 1. The W women’s team also suffered a loss at CBU, dropping its first match of 2020, 6-0.

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Director of Athletics Jason Trufant and the Owls athletic program would like to take the time to recognize the 111 student-athletes who received a GPA of 3.0 or better during the fall 2019 semester. Because of their academic efforts, the scholars have been named to the Fall 2019 Athletic Director's List. Among those student-athletes recognized, 38 Owls hold at least a 3.5 GPA and 20 finished with a 4.0.  

Owls Athletics Ranks 9th in USCAA Directors Cup Standings

NORFOLK, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has revealed the first round of 2019-2020 Director Cup standings. The standings consist of results from the 2019 USCAA Golf, Volleyball, Soccer, and Cross Country National Championships in addition to points for 2019 National Convention attendance and sports offering.

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W women’s tennis team dropped its first dual match of the 2019-20 season against Freed Hardeman University, 7-2, on the Dr. Barbara Garrett Tennis Court on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls women’s team was unable to pick a set against the NCAA Division II opponent Christian Brothers University on Friday, April 12. The W fell 6-0 to the Buccaneers in an afternoon match. 

Women's Tennis Stalls Versus Delta State, 9-0

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls women’s tennis team took on Delta State University in a homecoming match on Saturday, March 30. The W did the best it could against the NCAA DII opponents but the Owls were unable to pick up a point for the 9-0 loss.

Women's Tennis Unable to Pull Past MMI, 4-2

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls women’s tennis team played well against Marion Military Institute on Friday, March 29.  In its first match of the homecoming weekend, The W picked up two points against the Tigers but were unable to overcome a player shortage to fall 4-2.
