Junior middle blocker Tori Weir also had a great game offensively. The Columbus, Miss. native recorded 16 total attacks with nine kills for a .500 kill percentage. She also had four service aces and three block solos.

Defensively, junior libero Sadie Mitchell led the team with 13 digs while senior setter Mary Grace Prine had a match-high 15 assists.

"I am very proud of our efforts today," said head coach Roxanne Hernandez. "This is a matchup that is always mentally challenging and we fought hard to establish a lead and run throughout it. I think our middles got to see a lot more action today and had successful bouts with our setters. We hope to have the same success against Martin Methodist this Friday."

The Owls will return to action on Friday, Oct. 4 when they travel to Pulaski, Tenn. to take on Martin Methodist. The first serve for the doubleheader is set for 4 p.m.
