Women's Cross Country Finish Regular Season at Blazer Classic

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Owls women's cross country team competed in the UAB Blazer Cross Country Classic on Friday, Oct. 18. The W ran a 6k against steep competition which included teams from Florida State University, Southern Miss, Mississippi State University, and Samford University. The W finished 24th with an average time of 36:46.2.

Caroline Greer was the first Owl to cross the finish line with a time of 31:47.82. She followed less than a minute later by newcomer Mateline Newman with a time of 32:20.01.

Finishing third for The W, Caitlyn Nodine completed the 6k in 36:61.91. Katelyn Vann shaved off a minute and a half off her best time for a personal record of 38.16.85 to be the fourth Owl to come in.

"It has been a great season for the Owls as we continue to grow and lay the foundation of our program," said head coach Morgan Turnipseed. "Each and every runner has played an important role in this and it has been exciting to watch leadership and friendships grow and develop all while competing against others and ourselves to Win Every Day."
