Owls Men's and Women's Cross Country to Compete in USCAA National Championship

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W Athletics Department is sending the men's cross country team and two members of the women's cross country team to compete at the upcoming USCAA Cross Country National Championship in Virginia Beach on Friday, Nov. 8.

Sophomore runner Caroline Greer and junior runner Mateline Newman will represent the Owls women's team while Josh Maughan, Jonathan Mathis, David Young, David Standifer, and Chase Norsworthy will be hitting the course for the men's team.

The 2019 Cross Country National Championship is being held at the Military Aviation Museum where the women will compete in a 6k race at 10 a.m. and the men will compete in an 8k at 11 a.m.

This will be the first time that either team has been represented on the national stage and the teams are looking to have their best showing yet.
